My future Job

What type of job would you like to have?

Well, my dream would work inside to the classical orchestra or Big Band jazz like a orchestral director or pianist and arranger of jazz. I need to achieve many years of studying both direction and piano, but fortunately I have had the opportunity to play classical music inside to children's orchestra in my city (Concepción) and actually participate in the Big Band jazz of my university like a pianist. I also had the opportunity to practice as an arranger with the singers in the Big Band and  opportunity of the works premiere with the orchestra.

Well a classical director as usual, must travel frequently, because if you're good they invite you to work with many orchestras around the world. I am currently a junior studying music composition at the University of Chile. I chose this career because it has always struck me write music and career because this is what gives me more tools to accomplish my goal of becoming a conductor.
Participate of the big band jazz has been an enriching experience. He has brought a new language and otherwise feel and see the music.

In the future I hope that opportunities to continue studying these two areas of important and needed to become a more complete musician are met. Having the ability to play and improvise as my favorite musicians (Chick Corea and Michel Camilo).

Jamie Oliver Mode

I don't care about cooking really, but since i live alone, I'm obligated to cook. In the beginning, my mom cook everything for me, but now, i have to cook, and the "Junaeb" it's my pal. but nothing is forever, and when i don't have founds, it's time to Jamie Oliver mode.

My speciality it's cheap meals, like mashed potatoes with meat hamburgers, even soja hamburgers sometimes, because, it's cheap too. Another speciality from the house it's noodles with tomato sauce. The secret it's in the sauce, with a touch of garlic and green pepper, makes a unique combination of flavors, its like heaven, i promise that.

But unfortunately, my favorite meal, its the only one, i can not make, everyday, but when i eat my uncles amazing pork ribs brushed with chili oil, i always eat two plates.

i know this is hard to believe, but i actually have thoughts about culinary techniques, and can make many different meals, with different tastes more often, but now its no the time to cook, its time to music.

My evaluation of the semester

Well, my first semester in the english class was a irregular bit for the teachers and students movement. These reasons added to the fall of the elevator in the music department of my university, demonstrated the grand lack in infrastructure in my faculty and the artistic problematic in my country. But nevertheless, we accomplished have three class months in this semester.
This way of studying English was, very practical, dynamic and much pedagogic.
This Writing format in a blog with daily topics and associates with our careers, was very interesting and motivating for me. Personally my writing in English has greatly improved since the start of classes until now.
What topics I would like to address in the future?
I do not know, so far everything has been interesting for me, the topics we have seen in the blog have been quite striking. The only thing that would change would be the class schedule, I find it hard to get up very early, especially when I have concerts with the big band of my music faculty on Monday or Tuesday night,  they usually end up past midnight, but unfortunately not can.

The movies

I have many favorites movies, one of them is Lord of the rings Trilogy, I likes the middle age fights and the amazing dragon in the new sequel, although dies at the beginning of the third movie, (sorry for the spoiler). Other of my favorites movies is the Batman Trilogy of the genius, Christopher Nolan. I think Nolan saved the batman franchise, because earlier sequels did not reflect the true identity of the character, the sick mind batman , who needs this alter-ego to overcome the trauma of loose his parents. For this in the second movie the Joker he tells: "You complete me" or "for them you're a freak, a monster, like me".
This trilogy approaches much to the comics and positions it in a much real world.

My favorite genre in the movies is the science fiction,
I'm a guy with simple tastes, a good fights, many blood and a sexy girl. I not have really a favorite actor, but speaking of the sexy girls, my favorite actress and my platonic love is Scarlett Johansson (Wachita rica). Usually I prefer see movies in the cinema but see movies in my home, is not bad.

The music

The music

From my childhood, the music to be present. My grandfather listened frequently classic music in the bio bio of beethoven radio, he also listened "flamenco" and playing castañuelas. My mother always listened romantic music in the radio, regrettably this music the any form stayed in my subconscious.
Years to later, my mother gift a acustic guitar. This guitar was the first approach to the music. In my puberty, I started to listen "Los prisioneros" and much later I listened "Los Tres", this band become of my favorite. At age seventeen i entered studying Contrabass with the motivate be like "Titae" (Contrabass player of my favorite band) But my study was focused on classical music. This expanded my taste for this particular style. Parallel to my study, I had a rock band called "Podría Ser", where was vocalist.
When graduates from high school, I decided to devote more professionally to music and went to study composition at the Universidad de Chile.
Although everyone always told me that they would starve, I did not care, music became a base of my life.

Chick Corea The Big Daddy, son of God.

Armando Corea was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts. His father, a jazz trumpet player who had led a Dixieland band in Boston in the 1930s and 1940s, introduced him to the piano at the age of four. Growing up surrounded by jazz music, he was influenced at an early age by bebop and stars such as Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker. (The Big Daddy)
Corea developed his piano skills by exploring music on his own. A notable influence was concert pianist Salvatore Sullo, from whom Corea started taking lessons at age eight and who introduced him to classical music, helping spark his interest in musical composition. (De aquí en adelante se pudrió todo)

It was a day while playing in a bar that appeared legend Miles Davis and invited him to join his band of jazz fussion. He has composed several jazz standards: Spain, La Fiesta, Armandos Rhumba (my favorite) and Windows.
There are many things that catch my attention of Chick Corea. One of the most strikes me is his creative ability. Since I participated with Miles Davis, he has not stopped creating music. As of 76 he has not stopped making records until today. His musical language seems inexhaustible.
I share something with Chick Corea, his admiration for Mozart. Because this guy not only plays jazz, also plays classical music. Has an album called "Mozart Sessions" arranged by Mozart brought the language of jazz. Also recorded three concertos for piano and orchestra. Not any jazzy can do that. (Get down of The Pony)

If there is a god, it must be Bach and if there is a Jesus must be Mozart, and I'm sure Chick Corea is the reincarnation of Mozart only this time ventured into jazz instead of classical.

Phothographs

This photo may be a little self-referential. But it is very important to me for their lot.

This photo was taken in December 2014 by a fellow career named  Felipe Castro, better known as "El choclo" in "Thelonius" bar located in Santiago within the Bellavista neighborhood.

In this picture you can see a part of the big band of the University of Chile in which he participated as a pianist and arranger. This orchestra was born the same year and is led by Professor Carl Hammond.
This photo is very important in manny ways to me.
My study in music has been classical school, but apart from this, is also my passion for popular music and particularly in this case jazz.
When I began studying music it was right through the contrabass, with which to participate in child Concepción Orchestra.
When I came to study in Santiago had to leave the orchestra and me away from that way of making music. The big band came into my life at a time when I needed and missed this way of making music.Another reason why I like this picture because it is the first time we played with the big band. It is also the first jazz orchestra that has existed in the music faculty of our university. (All who participated in this concert will be part of the history).
Another reason was that at that concert premiered a work of mine. The first time I played in Thelonius and premiering a work for big band.
I like this photo because it is the beginning of something new, a new learning a new language and another form of seeing and feeling the music.
